The Jerusalem office was established in 1974, together with the establishment of the office in Tel Aviv. These two branches constitute up to the present time the main branches of the Balter Guth Aloni law firm.
The branch supplies legal services to a wide variety of clients, including some of the biggest business entities in Israel, most of the Catholic Orders, the Baptist Church, multinational corporations, large public entities, construction companies in all sectors, hi-tech companies, cooperative societies, most of the leading insurance companies in the Israeli economy, commercial companies and industrial companies.
The primary fields of expertise of the lawyers in the Jerusalem Branch are: real estate – transactions and litigation; torts; insurance; medical malpractice; commercial litigation; defamation; contracts law; transactions and litigation with the Israel Lands Authority; tenders; and public law.
The attorneys also represent and advise private individuals in a slew of fields, among them tort claims, medical malpractice, real estate matters, legal disputes with institutions and large entities, inheritance matters and most of the areas of private law.
The founders of the firm, Moshe Balter and Ehud Guth, who got together during their military service, jointly established the successful firm that came about as a result of this friendship, and continued to develop in that spirit of friendship.
The spirit of friendship and trust is an important value of the firm. Most of the partners who manage the firm started as interns in the firm and grew in it, and likewise a large number of the attorneys and administrative personnel. Many of them have already spent most of their life with the firm. Thus, for example, four of the secretaries in Jerusalem have been working in the firm for over 20 years, and one for “only” ten years. The professional administrative staff, led by the talented Galit, Orit, Ronit and Rachel, make it possible for the firm’s clients to obtain an available response and service at any time, and for the attorneys to do their work in the best and most efficient manner.
The great amount spent working jointly, the extended time together and the Jerusalem manner, greatly contributed to the close friendship among the members of the branch, the mutual assistance, the willingness to take someone’s place whenever the need arises, as well as the many social activities that take place outside of office hours and often also include family members.
The good relations that transpire at the site also influences voluntary activities by the firm’s lawyers. This is primarily the teaching of weekly lessons in Jerusalem schools on the subject of the law. This activity is planned throughout the year, so that it accelerates as the year progresses, and toward the end of the academic year it culminates in three moving activities: a visit by the students, accompanied by office personnel, to a hearing in the Justice Court in Jerusalem, including a conversation with the judge; a visit to our offices on a regular work day and obtaining an explanation as to the work of attorneys; conduct of a moot court trial with the participation of the students and in the presence of their parents.
