Adv. Moshe Balter (“Balter”, according to all his friends, acquaintances and admirers) is a founding partner and the head of the Tel Aviv Branch of the firm.

In 1974, Balter founded the firm together with his friend, Adv. Ehud Guth, whom he met when they served together in the army.

For more than fifty years Balter has been providing legal representation in the field of litigation to leading companies in Israel, to international companies, to public authorities, to governmental companies, and to the main Israeli insurance companies. He specializes, among other things, in civil and commercial litigation and the handling of torts and insurance cases having a huge monetary scope and giving rise to complicated legal issues.  In addition, Balter serves as an arbitrator and mediator.

His rich, invaluable professional experience, alongside his practical sense, brilliant business and legal thinking, are what made Balter one of the leading litigators in the Israeli legal world and someone who took part in determining legal precedents in the Supreme Court.

Alongside his wide legal activities over the years, Balter saw and sees to it voluntarily to help a variety of organizations, nonprofit companies and entities, both with legal advice and with public philanthropic actions.  As a paratrooper, Balter was one of the founder, together with his comrades in arms, of the nonprofit organization to endow the paratrooper legacy, and the nonprofit organization that helps orphans and widows of the Paratrooper Division, to which he still provides pro bono services.

His integrity and personal honesty, together with his broad-based legal expertise, his wisdom and the value of friendship and generosity he espouses and by which he lives, are what brought the firm to be one of the largest and the leading law firms in Israel.  These values have constituted, from the inception of the firm, the path that leads the firm’s attorneys – the partners and the associates, the senior ones and the younger ones – in their legal operations.

Balter holds an LL.B. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Balter was admitted to the Israeli Bar in 1971 and to the New York Bar in 1988.
